Being A Grown-Up, Doing Grown-up Things
Mar. 29th, 2018 10:40 amI just washed some exterior paintwork with a squeegee mop- and what a difference a single pass with a mop can make! What fun! I don't suppose the job had been done since my father's time- if then- and I had no idea the grime would come off so easily.
2. My mother was being recalcitrant this morning. (Recalcitrant is Ailz's word for the week.) Foetal position, little girl sulky voice, defying the carers. "No I'm not getting up". I had to be a very heavy parent. "They'd insist on you having a wash even if you were in hospital" "Thank heavens I'm not" "But you will be if you don't etc...etc..." Once she had her feet on the floor she'd forgotten all about it.
