A Change Of Circumstances

We always knew we'd be moving on from here sometime- but now we've been made an offer we can't refuse- a very generous offer but with potentially tiresome consequences if we refuse it- and the move has become a reality that needs to be worked towards instead of a day dream.

And so we We've been looking at houses online. So many houses. Current favourite is an odd looking bungalow- like a child's fort made out of cardboard boxes taped together- on the coast between Seaford and Newhaven with a view across a railway line and a caravan park to The Sea!

I know what you mean- we chanced on this one after much searching. We knew we wanted Shropshire but this house was the icing on the cake.

We want to be near the sea- and if we were able to see it from the house that would be a huge plus.

Next thing is to go look at houses on the ground...

The offer sounds intriguing - but the nitty-gritty details of such a thing are often better left as a private arrangement between the parties so I don't really want to know.

The sea view, though, sounds like a lovely thing to aspire to. My views really make me smile every single day, no matter the weather, so it's important. Even if my house is a bit weird and held together with the building equivalents of old chewing gum and a prayer... I hope you find a lovely home - whatever shape it might take.

There's a project on to build lots of houses in the Tunbridge Wells area- and house builders are busy buying up land. If we sell now we get a good deal. If we don't sell we could find ourselves stuck in the middle of an enormous building site with an unsaleable property that we can't really afford to maintain.

Ailz wants a sea view, I want access to the South Downs. Seaford offers both.

That makes sense - and while you seem to love your garden and grounds you have never seemed terribly in love with the actual house, so why not down-scale to what you need and want?

I guess it will be terribly confusing to your mum - or perhaps she'll just accept it as just another one of those things that don't quite make sense to her, but where's her morning newspaper?

The house is inconvenient, isolated and expensive to run. It also needs redecorating inside and out. We wouldn't want to stay in it any longer than necessary.

My mother takes very little notice of what's going on around her- and I hope she'll take the move in her stride.
