Ailz says my immune system must be shot to bits because I can't get the silliest little cold without becoming feverish. I thought cold and fevers went together like peaches and cream but perhaps not. Yesterday passed in a haze of botherment and discomfort but today I am nibbling toast.

Ailz is quite right. The so-called common cold doesn't usually have much, if any, fever associated with it. Another virus might, though.

That surprised me. I thought everyone was feverish when they came down with a cold.

I believe I've always this way.

Inflammation - which involves raising the body temperature slightly - is a fairly standard technique of giving unpleasant things the boot, I believe. Certainly I often get a feverish night or two when I have a "cold".

Hope you feel better soon.

I once got rid of an inconvenient cold by sweating it out in very hot bath. Drastic- and I don't think I'd risk it now.

I'm on the mend, thanks.
