Barmaid in her 20s (with puzzled look): No, it's been a year and a bit since Keith bought it.

When you're in your 20s a year and a bit is a huge stretch of time. When you're in your 60s it's the blink of an eyelid.

This is so true.

I stopped in a building and asked the youngish proprietor of the business if the building had once been a National Guard armory. (The building was constructed in about the 1920s, maybe 1930s.)

"Never! And I've known of this building since the nineties!"
