poliphiloWent into a chip shop in Paddock Wood, ordered pudding and chips for Ailz and the very pleasant young man behind the counter didn't have a clue what I was talking about- so I had to settle for pie. Is steak pudding just a northern thing, then? Surely not. My mother used to make it all the time- and she's spent her whole life in the South East.
Incidentally, it was while I was sitting there in the chippie, waiting for my order to be filled, that the news came through on the radio that Dylan had won the Nobel prize.
