It's why we've replaced most of the doors in our house with draft curtains. Keeps the house insulated, and the cats can go where they want. If they want to walk back and forth under the curtain, they can do so until they wear themselves out.
Of course, we have a door that has a double curtain, to be doubly sure to keep drafts out, and one of our cats just sits in between the two.

if he had his way we've have cat holes going everywhere.
like my cat door in the kitchen.
my cats see the bathroom as a group activity
but the litter is in the upstairs one.
the dogs see the loo as a party
