And then, for no obvious reason, my mother's hearing came back around lunchtime today- and is now as good as it was before. We've just had a more than usually long exchange- which included a joke of sorts- and she heard it all.

I don't think she has any allergies. She's been quite disgustingly healthy all her life. :)
