I was sitting at the table, using the computer, when I felt something climb over my foot. I looked down- and it was a shrew.

Has Marlowe caught and released two in two days? Do they have a way into the house we don't know about? Or did one of the ones Marlowe caught last year settle down and have babies?

I've never heard of shrews living indoors, but why not? Perhaps they're becoming domesticated- like mice and rats.

That shrew wanted to say "Hello".

And I was very happy to say, "hello" back

Perhaps they're becoming domesticated-

*insert clever remark here about the taming of shrews*

The Wikipedia page for shrews is quite fascinating! I had no idea some species used echolocation, and some are even venomous!

I did not realize they were such unusual little animals. I only recall seeing them on Guam; they had scary-looking teeth!

By moving into the house perhaps they are making a shrewd move - get it!
