I dreamed I was in a class where we were being taught how we are all fragments of the World Soul. I found this easy to grasp but not all my classmates did. A prize was being handed out- and I'm not sure who the recipient was;  it might have been the teacher, or another pupil- or even me- but if it we are all fragments of the World Soul it doesn't really matter, does it?

This is not totally far off, even if it is meant in spiritual things.
How much is once person really able to change in this world?
Unless he's got a lot of money or a lot of contacts, it's just a pretty meglomaniacal thing to aim for that. How many people are there in the world? It's just very unprobable that this is going to happen.
So never overestimate your own significance for the world.
The world existed before you and it will exist after you.
There's nothing ever so important that it can't be ignored or forgotten about...

I was mistaken.

One shouldn't stop to try, it's not totally in vain.
But one also shouldn't be unrealistic and overestimate one's own power to influence. Not expect to make a difference.
