Literary Reputations
Dec. 27th, 2015 10:44 amThis morning's Guardian carries an almost entirely laudatory article about Kipling- and the comments on it are almost entirely laudatory too- so perhaps the tide has turned. Channel 4 did a run down of the nation's 50 favourite children's books last night (but who gets to vote? no-one approached me) and it was cheering for a fogey like me to see the long-established classics holding their places; Ruddy was in there with The Just So Stories, Kenneth Grahame and E Nesbit came near the top- and Rowling and Dahl were beaten to first place by A A Milne.
