Late Night Visitor

We had a visitor late last night. Something big.  We heard it barging about on the patio- a little out of control- as if feeling itself trapped (which is understandable because the patio is closed in on all sides with a single door to the garden). Then a pot hit the flagstones and broke.

It had left by the time I got downstairs to shine a light around. So what was it- A fox? a badger? a deer? All are possible.

No, we don't have them over here. Badger, fox and deer are the only native animals that are the right size and cheeky enough to come right up to a house.

Very unlikely- for reasons of geography.

Might have been a fox. They seem to be more common now even in our own village.

We certainly have foxes round here, though I haven't seen one for a while (apart from the dead ones on the roads.)

We are on the busy A2 and i saw a dead fox in the road early morning last week. It was so sad to see!
