We received a belated Christmas card this morning featuring a woodcut by Eric Gill- the sculptor and polemicist- who was also a sex abuser of Savilian shamelessness. Apparently the dodginess of the artist hasn't tainted the art.

Same seems to be true of the movies of Roman Polanski.

It's a generous doctrine. I like it. We should apply it across the board.

Given that the composer Gesualdo da Venosa (1560-1613) who murdered his wife and her lover after catching them in flagrante still gets airtime, should we be surprised?
