I don't know what's going on in The Middle East- and I don't believe anyone who hasn't been immersed in that culture knows either. Alliances are constantly shifting and double games are being played. Oil is a factor. And gas. And some thousand year old dispute about the minutiae of religious loyalty.  Dropping bombs on the confusion isn't going to solve a thing.

Still, Mr Cameron wants to get re-elected and thinks killing foreigners will stand him in good stead. Mr Miliband (who wants Mr Cameron's job) would like a few deaths on his conscience too. And the British public is easily persuaded. If either of these gentlemen were to walk down a British street and let loose with an AK47 the British public would be less impressed but, morally speaking, where's the difference?

Recently read something about former circumstances in Afghanistan, things which for sure are very unknown in Western hemispheres, and, to put it shortly, it gave you a piece of the puzzle what about the election today.
Getting to know that you realize how much Western hemispheres have no idea of this cultural circle and they've been putting guns and means into this area ever since the Soviet Afghanistan War - just only to make it Vietnam to them.
The biggest problems on that are: They didn't learn anything of history and continue to turn this more and more into a witch's cauldron, and second, their media constantly take part in spreading false information, hiding information and seeing things with their typical overrated Western point of view.

Totally agree with your there. It is all too murky with dubious grounds for the real facts, just media propaganda and hysteria. It is so sad that the media no longer tells the truth and was not afraid to speak out. Now it is just pandering to the piper.

At this point, it's easiest to just follow the money - and FSM knows, that flows so very freely in "wartime", but only to specific companies and agencies.

*sigh* For all the Guardian's held to be a leftist publication, they're fine with stumbling along with the general narrative a lot of the time.
