I Felt Almost Sorry For Him

The Lib Dems are planning to get tough on controlling and abusive men.

As I went past my mother's bedroom this morning I caught a fragment of a radio interview with one of their spokesmen. The interviewer had not unreasonably segued from the new policy to the distressing and unfolding business of Lord Rennard and his wandering hands- and the interviewee was making the unmistakeable bleating noise of a politician in distress.

He speeded up his delivery, his throat constricted and these words came tumbling out: "Of course I myself have had nothing to do with this matter, but I and all the party have made it very, very clear..."

Pretty much impossible to define I'd think since most men are in a position to be 'controlling'.

I note that they're letting Rennard back into the party without even giving the women concerned a chance to put their own views to a hearing.

Sounds about right- not controlling or abusive at all! [snark]

Very difficult to decide when "protective" crosses the line into "controlling".
