I love not having a land line. No junk calls, in fact no calls at all. People who know us are contacting us by text- which is so much less intrusive.

I would be happy not to have a landline, if only I didn't need it for the satellite TV (you don't, of course... but they say you do, in order to potentially squeeze even more money out of you!)

Ah well, we don't have a TV either.

No TV, no landline, no cellphone here!

I'd love a text only phone. Maybe a text only TV.

I've only ever used a landline (well, not literally, but pretty much) for DSL. ^_^ Neither the roomie nor I actually use it for anything more than.. well, me, not at all, him, food delivery ordering. But it serves its purpose, miraculously guiding megabits of data our way. I still marvel at how VDSL2 can use a bit of copper originally only ever intended for 2.4kHz voice to convey up to around 100 megabits into the home.

Frustratingly, I do find myself having to use the iPhone a fair bit at the moment, as recruiters seem wedded to the technology. (Their emails tend to be of the "call me" variety, rather than just saying what they have to say. Cue many games of phone tag..)
