The village duck pond keeps expanding. This morning it was almost level with the road- and a man from the Fire and Rescue service was placing sandbags along its edge. If it gets into the road it's likely to carry on down the embankment on the far side and into the houses beyond.

The BBC keep posting photos of swans swimming about in places where swans are not normally able to swim. I think the aquatic birds are about to inherit the earth!
