Up Early

We're going home today. We'll be gone a week. I'll be glad of the break.

We're expecting delivery of a tumbler drier this morning. They said it would be here between 7 and 11 and I got up an hour early just in case.

I never sleep well the night before a journey. In the early hours I reached that curious state of mind where part of the brain is awake and part is dreaming and the waking part sort of sits back and observes the grotesqueries its sleeping partner keeps throwing up.
