Everything stops at eleven. We sit at the kitchen table.

My mother likes one brand of instant coffee, Ailz likes another and I only drink tea. Sometimes I get confused.

My mother eats a nut and sometimes a sweet biscuit, Ailz eats nothing, and I eat oatcakes with jam or honey.

I tend to stop for elevenses unless i am out , such as today when i arrived at the Office. first thing i did was to check the time and have a coffee.

My father was similar - dinner was 6pm every day. If I asked for it to be a bit later (thinking perhaps 7-7.30pm instead), it might be postponed by as much as ten minutes. ^_^;

I’ve been spoiled with coffee, I’m afraid. I’ll enjoy any decent brand, but for choice, I’d far sooner go with a bit of some good fresh coffee - just a bit into a freebie French press, stirred, left for a minute or two, then plunge and pour. (Personal favorites include Union Roasted’s La Libertad from Guatemala, and Cristal Cup of Excellence from Honduras. So very tasty! Roasted to order, sent out directly, so they’re all as fresh as it gets. I go with the espresso grind, even though I just have a basic press. Ah, those wonderful aromas as you open the bag for the first time.. ^_^

I've gone off coffee. I'm not sure why. I used to drink it regularly but then I stopped. If I'm out and need an energy boost I'll still occasionally order a shot of expresso.

With my MiL it was the glass of sherry and a piece of shortbread every evening at six before dinner.

She never understood my unwillingness to drink sherry although I was happy enough to munch the shortbread. :o)

My mother takes gin and tonic at six- accompanied by a dish of little cheesy biscuits.
