Brooklyn Cowgirl
Mar. 9th, 2005 10:11 amMy friend Judy (whom I mention every once in a while) has a CD out which she's advertising and selling here
I've written a review of it which goes like this.
"Brooklyn Cowgirl is a bridge between two of America's most fabulous subcultures, marrying the emotional forthrightness of country music with a wit and wordplay that is utterly New York. The Grand Ol'Opry rubs shoulders with the Algonquin Hotel; Dorothy Parker steps out in rhinestones. The songs run up and down the register from lyrical to foot-stomping. They are heartfelt, true and funny - and as sharp as the lime wedge in the neck of a bottle of Corona."
