Brooklyn Cowgirl

My friend Judy (whom I mention every once in a while) has a CD out which she's advertising and selling here

I've written a review of it which goes like this.

"Brooklyn Cowgirl is a bridge between two of America's most fabulous subcultures, marrying the emotional forthrightness of country music with a wit and wordplay that is utterly New York. The Grand Ol'Opry rubs shoulders with the Algonquin Hotel; Dorothy Parker steps out in rhinestones. The songs run up and down the register from lyrical to foot-stomping. They are heartfelt, true and funny - and as sharp as the lime wedge in the neck of a bottle of Corona."

that sounds rather good. Alas, I've just checked my bank account, but come payday, I shall head over to cdbaby...

Splendid. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I'm sure I won't. I *am* disappointed that my bank balance is too low (and credit card balance too high) to justify buying it immediately though!

:-)

Judy is multi-talented AND beautiful! No fair!

She even has a great singing voice--and she also wrote the lyrics? Wow!

She is also a playwright, a poet, a short-story-writer and- get this- the author of a published Star Trek novel!

Thanks for posting - right up my street. Listened to (two minute slices of) the whole album now, and consider myself well entertained. It's great to see somebody making a success of music (as well as all her other artistic activities) without being a record company victim.
