Sour Milk

My mother keeps a little jug of milk in her bedroom so she can have a cup of tea in the morning. Last night it curdled- something I've not known happen before. She blames the thunderstorm.

That's quite an old idea, isn't it? There might be something in it - the close atmosphere before a storm?

She's absolutely right- thunderstorms can curdle milk, although I don't understand the physics of it.
