Back In Kent

Since we went away my mother has had the workmen in and they've improved (widened) the steps into the kitchen and living room. She can now take herself up and down them using her zimmer frame and so access all areas on the ground floor, including the patio.

We had a foam mattress topper delivered while we were away. It's now lying out on the lawn in a bid to get rid of its foul chemical smell. The instruction leaflet says this can take up to three weeks.

Erm, no, we'll bring it inside tonight- and hope its exposure has taken the edge off it.

Heat is good for increasing the rate of offgassing. Can you loosely cover it with a clear plastic sheet? That will also help in case it rains.

Today has been really hot. I'm hoping it'll have made a difference.

We can't leave the mattress out at night. besides we want it on our bed. :)
