I'm not normally a morning person but there's something very Vaughan Williams about rising before eight to feed the livestock (rabbits) on a bright shiny June day in the country.
There's a fine four-CD set called "The Spirit of England" that includes Vaughan Williams, Butterworth, Elgar, and a number of the other composers of that era. I'm especially partial to the Butterworth.
