Yesterday was sunny but cold. There were snow flurries late afternoon. We had more snow overnight- and it's snowing now- from a hazy sky with patches of blue. As before our region is getting off comparatively lightly. Northern Ireland has it bad; so does the West Coast of Scotland. Yesterday's news had footage of sheep being dug out of drifts.

Maybe it was a regional news broadcast. The sheep could have been in Cumbria.

We're in the middle of it all. It's bad to the east and west and north but right here we're only getting light flurries.

No more snow hereabouts in the deep southeast but it is bitterly cold with what my gran used to call a 'lazy wind'!

The sun is shining now and most of last night's snow has melted.
