We were in the Early Learning Centre yesterday looking at books for babies-  and enthusing over how things have moved on since we were last in the loop a generation ago.  There are waterproof books to take into the bath- touchy-feely books with fabrics built into the pages, books that make noises, books with finger puppets attached.  So much variety. Such ingenuity. We came home with a bag full.

Speaking of kids, how are the little ones (probably not so little by now) who used to be over all of the time? How is their mom?

They're fine. Fabi will be starting school in the new year.

They live in Liverpool now, which means we don't see them much, but we were talking to Odi only yesterday. We plan to go over and visit after Christmas.

Fabi is starting school? Time flies! I'm glad they're doing fine. I look forward to seeing photos of your visit.

That's what's called "being a grandparent".
