I've clipped the hedge. I did the right hand side yesterday and the left-hand side this morning.  I shouldn't need to do that again until next spring.

A couple of days back I filled a planter with grass seed as a winter larder for the rabbits. The bird table is doing brisk business. The starlings eat their way through a fat-filled coconut shell in less than a week.

We're not quite ready to close up shop. This is the season that the coleus really come into their own, and between the coleus and the turning leaves on the maple and wisteria our little courtyard is a riot of color.

I have winter wheat in one planter for The Scamp.

Here the colours are beginning to come through- but I don't believe an English Fall is ever as spectacular as an American one.

And a Pennsylvania fall isn't as spectacular as a New Hampshire one, either. To tell the truth, I prefer the more muted colors of a "disappointing" fall. The one New Hampshire fall I saw, which by everyone's account was spectacular, gave me eyestrain.
