Lucid

I had a lucid dream last night. They're the ones where you realize you're dreaming and are able to take control of the action. I don't think I've ever had one before.

I dreamed that I woke and it was a bright summer's morning. Only I knew somewhere at the back of my mind that it was really December. Then, as I was off bicycling through the woods, it came to me- hey, I'm dreaming. What fun.

I won't bother you with the details. Dreams are always more fun to have than to hear about. But the two kids with unicorn horns on their foreheads were kinda neat....

I love lucid dreaming! I had one where I could fly, and it was so incredible! I actually flew so high at one point that the air was freezing and I remember recalling that I knew I was as high as airplaines normally flew. It was a dark, clear night and the stars were all out, and it was as if I was flying amongst them. It was such a beautiful dream. What was even "cooler" so to speak, was that taking off actually wasn't effortless. I could feel the pull of gravity in my dream as I lifted off from the earth, and I could feel how much energy it was taking to get off the ground. Simply amazing.

My flying dreams usually involve me in hovering just a few feet off the ground. Nothing spectacular. But I'm always really happy that I've finally found out how to do it- and really disappointed when I wake and find that I haven't after all.
