No Smoke Without Fire

If you microwave a croissant instead of grilling it the room will fill with acrid smoke

And if you put your fingerless gloves down on top of a toaster you've just switched on...

I've been microwaving garlic lately and I've noticed they tend to go off like small firecrackers sometimes. I see little flashes of light and popping sounds that result in little burnt pieces of garlic, but I keep doing it.
