Godspeed...

[livejournal.com profile] jackiejjhas died. She was the best of us. I hope her archive stays up because she was a lovely writer.

I won't mourn. I don't believe in death- except as a rigmarole one has to go through- like passport control. She's home now and probably designing herself little houses. She loved designing houses.

She was full of questions about God and religion and life and death- and now she has the answers.

Jackie was special, wasn't she?
I'll miss her very much (not the same as mourning, exactly) and I have the book she put together from many of her original LJ posts that she so kindly sent me as a surprise. I'll be re-reading that.

Very special.

I've been browsing on her LJ. She had such a light touch. She was so wise and funny.

I didn't know her - but I do now - I hope that her LJ will stay - I'd like to read more - she sounds such good company

I see her LJ has been designated a "memorial" which means it will stay. I'm glad of that.

She was a lovely person- and writer. Inventive, whimsical, funny.

I'm so glad that her LJ will stay. I loved her whimsical posts, her doodles and the lovely photos she took.

I will miss her.

Yes. Me too.

Thanks for making that last point, that she has the answers now. I'm just sad that she can't post about them!

Ah well, we'll all find out for ourselves soon enough.:)

Her memory for a blessing.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2012-01-05 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes indeed. Her memory will sustain me...

Maybe she'll find ways to post some of those answers to us. ;-) Look in whimsical places!

Thanks for this beautiful tribute, Tony.

"Look in whimsical places!"

I shall. :)

...especially during rainstorms and right after.

I will miss her knack for finding the magic in life.

Me too.

I just checked her page, skimmed through it. You are right about the quality of her writing. I am sorry that I missed knowing her. Thank you for putting up the link to her LJ page. I am sorry for your loss.

She was a very fine writer and humorist- and a lovely person.
I'm glad you like her work.

I'm sorry. She sounds lovely--certainly her journal is.

I never met her IRL- but I counted her as a dear friend. She was also one of the very best writers on LJ.

I read about her passing this morning.

I wonder what the answers are. May I have many more decades before I know.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2012-01-06 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
If we knew the answers we wouldn't take life on earth as seriously as we do- and that might not be such a good thing.

I never thought about that...

Her book, Miserable On Purpose, is available via Amazon. I just ordered it.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2012-01-06 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
Ha, I already have a copy! :)

[identity profile] kinderheldin.livejournal.com 2012-01-14 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I read her from time to time. I found her in a search for Jungians a long time ago and bookmarked her journal. She was a wonderful writer and a lovely soul. I saw that she had been ill the last time I read her entries (her daughter had written), and then about a week later, you wrote this post. Death does make me sad, though I like the way you look at it.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
Death makes me sad, but then so does much of life. None of it is easy.

If the dice had rolled a little differently Jackie would have been a much loved newspaper columnist or novelist or radio humourist. She had the talent, she had the style.
