Who asked about the interior of the church at Chelmorton.  It shows an interior wall of the porch- which has been cobbled together (probably during the 19th c.) using all sorts of bits of carved stone- including medieval grave slabs. The incised stone on the right could well be Saxon.

The porch is an antiquarian's delight. I don't know enough about Saxon art to be able to identify a piece with confidence.

I suspect you're correct and the specimen on the left right may indeed be Saxon. Googling up images of Saxon grave slabs, it looks like a good fit.
