Teenage Bunny Hell

The two young rabbits have entered adolescence- which means they've switched from being sistas 4eva to wanting to rip one another's guts out. We've had to separate them. Apparently- according to a website Ailz was reading-  once the hormones kick in every rabbit hates every other rabbit regardless of previous history or gender. It makes one wonder how they manage in the wild. 

We're taking them to be neutered this morning.

It's not quite as bad as one might imagine - most of the time, they're happily enjoying grasses, or the occasional blackberry leaf, or even an occasional precious berry. But there are certainly some dramatic chases - very brief in human time, yet with extraordinary coordination, as demonstrated here, where one's flight is almost interrupted by a nip from the pursuer below.

We've been trying to separate them with fences, but it's amazing how high they can leap.
