The Six Weeks Is Up

Today is the day the work was scheduled to finish. There's still a lot to do. The kitchen is half finished, there are two floors to lay, a loft ladder to install, some wiring to be sorted out, a door to be hung and some trim to be added to the windows. I think that's the lot.

I purged my friendslist this afternoon. It made me sad. Anyone who hasn't posted this year (with one or two exceptions) has been culled.

I hope it gets done in record time now.
There is usually a delay in any sort of renovations (in my experience).

I did that same purge a few months ago. It made me sad, too. Luckily I have quite a few very active people and we entertain each other well enough.
:)

I must say I wasn't really expecting the work to finish on time.

In the end I purged 35 accounts- which was less than I'd feared.

Tony, the news about snow in England shows very deep snowfalls! Is that going on where you are? If so, I am glad your window is covered up now.

We're in an area that has had less snow than most- even so I think we probably got about 5 inches. My mother- at the other end of the country- is completely snowed in.

I've been contemplating doing the same thing.

Every so often I think one needs to do a spring clean.

Oh dear...I suppose I should start updating my LJ. I should hate to fall victim to one of these end-of-year pogroms.

Bad as it looks, I'm sure, I suspect your renovation is just about on-schedule, as such things go. At least you are reasonably warm and dry.

It's the first time I've had such a big clear-out. Some of the people had stopped posting five or six years ago.

A person I'm in regular conversation with- like yourself- is in no danger of being axed. :)

Much obliged, but still an LJ update might be in order, at least now and then.

Every time I do this, I wonder where I'll get new friends from. At some point, I stopped actively seeking people out.

LJ is less lively than it used to be- at least, that's my impression. There used to be much more coming and going of friends than there is now.

hello friend

Hello brov, hope you are coping with the building work. I've been trying to cope with working in a different place and travelling by different buses instead of driving to my usual place of work - very discombobulating. We had a foot of snow here.
love Jenny x

Hi sis,

We're coping OK. Greater Manchester has had less snow than most of the country- and our local roads have remained passable. I guess we had about 5 inches. And today it's been thawing.
