I Still Can- Just

I climbed over a gate yesterday. Twice. It was about the height of my chest and had no bars to use as foot-rests, so I hauled myself up using the strength of my arms. I didn't need to do it; I could have got to where I was going another way; but I wanted to prove I still could.  When I reached the top I wobbled a bit and could easily have toppled over and cracked my head. There was no-one watching so I wasn't showing off- except to myself.

That kind of accomplishment is the best, seriously! Because nobody's there to pick at your dismount, or to scold that 'at your age...' nonsense. You did it! You didn't break anything! Nobody mocked! Go you!
