Oh, Before I Forget...
The robin who lives somewhere in the vicinity of our backyard has been spotted using the new bird feeder.

Success! I know he'll tell all his bird buddies about it.

Ha! Progress....
Our American robins, which of course are actually red-bellied thrushes, don't use feeders that I know of. They're ground feeders and prefer insects.

Our robins are mainly ground feeder too- so I was surprised to see this little guy hovering- with much flapping of wings- around the fat balls.

WELL! Wasn't that the never-visited feeder? Obviously the new location suits the birds. Perhaps there will be many more to come.

That's right. I think that's why the in-laws wanted to be rid of it- because no birds ever used it.

Lovely! :-) I have a robin that comes to our table most days. Always nice to see that splash of red. He has a very distinctive gait too, so even with his back to me I can still tell its him.

We have a pair of robins and a pair of blackbirds.
I originally read that as "The robot who lives somewhere in the vicinity of our backyard..."

But then I realized you're probably not Phillip K. Dick (or
are
you?...)

Sadly not. I would enjoy drawing his posthumous royalties.

Hoorah! I thought they'd get used to it eventually. He/she will be the first of many, I'm sure.

He's introduced his mate to it.
There are plenty of sparrows and starlings around, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the word (or the tweet) gets out.
