That was hard to watch. Nerve-jangling.

Stosur beat Henin after a wobble- and now with wobbles on both sides- she's beaten Serena too.

In the first set she had Serena completely over-awed. That's not something you see too often. Her loss of confidence in the second set suggests she's not actually as cool as her manner on court suggests. But then she came back and reasserted her authority.

All four quarter finalists are players who've never won a grand slam title.

I kind of hated to see Serena lose, she'd been doing well and looked (until this match) like she was finding herself again.

I went off her a bit when she made that victory speech at Wimbledon thanking "my God, Jehovah".

Venus has always been my favourite Williams sister.

I'll tell you, Venus is the one I'd want on my side in a fight - after the way she threatened that linesman at the U.S. Open, I don't think I'd want to call one of her matches.

I didn't see that, but I can imagine it. I think Venus is extraordinarily beautiful.
