Taking Exercise

I need to be getting more exercise- which is one reason why I walked back from Sainsbury's the other day (after Ailz had dropped me there on her way to see her parents) and why today I walked all the way there and all the way back.

Another reason is we need to be spending less money- and I have this theory that if I go on foot- and can't carry much out-  even if I have to go several times a week, it'll reduce the impulse buys. Also, have you seen the price of petrol!

The full circle, including a meander through the supermarket aisles, takes about an hour.

Going in with a list can help reduce impulse buys, too.

That's true.

But sticking to a list calls for considerable willpower. :)

I find that I have saved a whole lot of money by shopping only once a month and making good use of my across the top freezer. The more I go to the store, the more impulse stuff I buy. For bread and milk I go to the "Mom and Pop" across the street, where they dont have much else to buy anyway except for cigarettes and lottery tickets (I dont smoke, and I only buy lottery tickets about four times a year.)

If I want the bread I like I have to go to the supermarket. And I find the freezer a mixed blessing. We buy things to freeze and then forget about them.
