They still have to install a new back gate, but otherwise the work is finished.  The yard may no longer be bushy, but it's neat. When Ailz and I inspected it this morning we were happy to find there are still some stocks of ivy and honeysuckle remaining.

That's a very good idea- about the planters, I mean; I must look into it.

I'm thinking of having a go at the wall with a hammer- and getting that ugly concrete off.
