The room where the rabbits live used to have carpet. Not any more it doesn't. I ripped it all out yesterday with my trusty stanley knife and Ailz and I took it to the tip.

In intervals of ripping I made plum crumble. Plum crumble is my favourite dessert.  I use a basic recipe I found on the Web- and add ginger.

Here's the recipe I use.

750g plums, halved and stoned
90g butter
110g flour
3tbs caster sugar
3tbs muscavado sugar

Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

Place plum halves, cut side up, in an over proof dish. Sprinkle with butter and sugar. Cook for 15 minutes- or until juice starts to run

Rub butter and flour together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in sugar, then sprinkle over plums. Cook for a further 25 minutes, or until topping turns brown.

Quantities are approximate. I find I have to use quite a bit more flour to get the texture of the topping right.

And I add ginger to the fruit.

Ah. In my family we called that [name of fruit] brown betty.

Well I never! I'd heard of Brown Betty but never knew what it was.
