I'm buying my bro-in-law's old lap-top. Mainly so I can carry on doing this when I'm away from home.

Fingers crossed.

Laptop!

I'll be interested in how your laptop works out, because I'm thinking about getting one when my cpu needs to be replaced--it's a Pentium III, and it irritates me.

And I'm glad you'll be able to write in the park or in a coffee shop, because I love your writing (I'd buy a book of essays from you in a second):

One thing leads to another. The lion's carcass shelters bees and the bees make honey.

What an image.

Thank you for the compliment. This blog is my book of essays- sort of.

I wish I could claim authorship of the image, but it's- ahem- Biblical. Story of Samson....

My bro-in law has been here much of the afternoon configuring the lap-top. I don't really understand the details, but I'm hoping once we get to London I'll just be able to switch it on and- voila!

This is being written on the old machine- the one that takes up half a room.

Ah, you are modest as well as brilliant, then. AND a Bible scholar!

(Being a good Episcopalian, I know absolutely nothing about the Bible...)
