Bents

We went to Bents- the big garden centre in Glazebury. We  thought the prices were a bit steep- but Glazebury is Cheshire, so I suppose this is where the footballers' wives come to buy their bedding plants. A family of robins has colonised the main building- and there they were- almost close enough to touch- hopping about among the displays.

I might have bought some pansies- to stiffen up the ranks in the front yard- but I wasn't going to pay twice what I paid for the same product in Wilkinson's in down-at-heel Middleton.

There's a pretty good restaurant. The berry compote or blanchemange or whatever (I chose by sight not off the menu) - was lovely.

You look content in your swing. :-)

Is that statue (which is rather..uhhhh...not artistic)supposed to be Diana the Huntress? It looks like she has a quiver in her back. And what an expression!

I love the grimacing faces in the first photo. Looks like somebody was buying a garden alien.

You look right at home in the swing.
:D

Was that your shopping trolley with the dismembered Ent in it?

I see what you did there in that first picture! I'm not going to ask....I'm not going to ask....I'm not going to ask...OK, I'm going to ask...

What the heck is that thing sitting in the shopping cart? It looks like an alien, which I simply can't imagine at a garden centre.

Ohhhhh... We had something very similar to that swing. We put it up every year on the patio until it got too old. It was so comfy!

I see they've knocked £20 off the statue.
She looks slightly inebriated to me

I don't want to make you blush, but that shot of you is very endearing.

That last shot is a glimpse of the 10 year old boy you once were.

That first shot is priceless! The giant alien would be for those who feel that gnomes are passé, I suppose?

The statue has the drollest expression and the shot of you in the swing is one of the nicest photos of you that I've seen. :)

Wonderful photos!

That statue looks pie-eyed and bored out of her mind --- like a socialite who has had enough to drink that she forgot the "proper" face to wear.

I also loved yesterday's photo post, although I think I forgot to go back and comment on it.

I love the swing picture. May I have your permission to copy it and add it to my "Friends" album?

Honestly, what wonderful compositions! And the expressions in the first picture made me laugh--looks like something got slaughtered in the buggy.

You look like a benevolent professor.
