poliphiloWe went to Bents- the big garden centre in Glazebury. We thought the prices were a bit steep- but Glazebury is Cheshire, so I suppose this is where the footballers' wives come to buy their bedding plants. A family of robins has colonised the main building- and there they were- almost close enough to touch- hopping about among the displays.
I might have bought some pansies- to stiffen up the ranks in the front yard- but I wasn't going to pay twice what I paid for the same product in Wilkinson's in down-at-heel Middleton.
There's a pretty good restaurant. The berry compote or blanchemange or whatever (I chose by sight not off the menu) - was lovely.
