Ready For Bed
Mar. 4th, 2009 12:25 pmThis morning's post brings me another nightshirt. That gives me five in all. I used to sleep naked, but I was feeling the cold (poor, old chap!) and took to wearing tee shirts. So far, so good- but the tee shirt doesn't go quite far enough. What you want is something that'll cover your cocyx- a spot- I find- singularly susceptible to draughts.
Are nightshirts strictly a grand-dad thing or do youngsters wear them too? It's my personal opinion that a nightshirt is a lot cooler than pyjamas.

Date: 2009-03-06 02:59 pm (UTC)I slept in pajamas as a young mollusk, but as I got older, and particularly through my time in the service, I slept in my unmentionables, with clothes close at hand. The Navy had an annoying tendency to call General Quarters at o'dark thirty with alarming regularity.
And so I still do that now, with the exception of cool weather, for which I have returned to t-shirts and pajama bottoms.
