Oddly, both the tower and the Norman interior are very reminiscent of Durham, although different periods of building at Durham, which makes direct influence that bit less likely...

I suppose Tewkesbury is more or less contemporary with Durham. I don't suppose it's at all unlikely that the same masons might have worked on both.

It's a lovely small town. Our friend Keith says we should have gone looking for the antiquarian bookshop.

Once again, I was lucky with the light. One doesn't get too many January afternoons as glorious as this.

No wonder they call my home area NEW England! Most of our towns and many of our streets are named after places in the UK. Tewksbury, Massachusetts. Dorchester, Massachusetts. Gloucester, Worcester, etc. Suffolk and Norfolk counties, Hampstead and Hampshire counties. Essex Street. And so on ad infinitum.
Your places are so much more beautiful than ours. I am a Capricorn, and have an affinity for old things, ancient places, etc.
