Funny photos from Christmas day! Ian doesn't really like Christmas pudding much, but it was the face of puzzlement at the science of alcohol burning- that's what I like to think anyway. Jenny
The break was wonderful thanks - cold but such a wonderful city. Had some fab walks and great meals (best steak in the world in a tiny brasserie that we went to with Ma before and still lived up to expectations). We saw a Hieronymus Bosch and another Bosch in the museum - supremely weird and pre-dating Dali et al by centuries! Also a Jan Van Eyck - incredibly detailed, fantastic colour still; interesting. The more modern museum contained Frank Brangwyn work - great to see this in reality - only seen reproductions before in a book. Looking forward to seeing the photos... shall I ask Ian about posting? Thank you so much for doing them. Thomas has let me see his photos - which are a bonus! Have you looked at them on your email? Aren't they good? Jenny
Born in Bruges, but moved to England at aged 7 or 8 I think. I gaather he worked in England and also toured and recorded on the continent etc. He left a lot of his work to Bruges. I knew about him before from a catalogue of the Fine Art Society who had an exhibition of his work quite recently.

The wedding photos turned out pretty well I think. We need to get them downloaded onto a memory stick and sent off to you.
How would you feel about me posting wedding photos here? I feel they're basically your property, so I wouldn't do it without your permission.

I love Bosch and Van Eyck. Obviously we need to go to Bruges some time. Brangwyn is an interesting artist. Did he live in Bruges?
Thomas's pictures are great.
