Daffodils are such tough flowers. I am pretty sure that they will survive it just fine.

Yes, I think they will.

Lovely photo! I hope it's not too cold where you are.

I'll be posting my Easter snow picture shortly. We have no snow on the ground here, but by hanging out of the window with my extra zoom attachment, I could photograph the distnat mountains.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-23 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
The temperature must be well above freezing. The snow was about two inches thick this morning and now- by evening- it has mostly gone.

Distant mountains? That sounds good.

...

Wow. The snow looks so... powdery. Almost like glitter.

(Can you tell how often I've seen snow?)

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-23 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
This is old snow- six hours old at least- and beginning to melt.

Makes for a lovely photo, though. And I dunno about unseasonable, exactly. I remember it snowing in Manchester in 1998 the night the Good Friday Agreement was signed, and there was minor flooding all over the UK delaying people's trains.

Which means its been ten years since the accord, I guess.

bother it

FWIW, the above was me, forgetting to log back in first...

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-23 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd forgotten about that.

But did the snow in '98 lie thick on the ground as it has done today?

Stunning photograph!
I love the way you can see the texture of the snow

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

Beautiful photograph. We too have had snow off and on for 3 days, but most of it is gone now.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 11:37 am (UTC)(link)
Ours has melted too. But it's snowing again as I write...

Great photo --- I love the play of light and shadow and color.

A friend of mine in Colchester says she and her daughter and their neighbors had an Easter morning snowball fight. *g*

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

I went down to the playing fields yesterday afternoon and they were dotted with snowmen.

[identity profile] pondhopper.livejournal.com 2008-03-23 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
A beautiful contrast!

Has it all melted?

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
Sadly, yes, but it's snowing again right now!

[identity profile] msjann65.livejournal.com 2008-03-23 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
A lovely picture -- on like it could have been taken in Massachusetts on an April Easter morning several years ago....

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 11:40 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

This is a very early Easter, I believe- about as early as it ever gets- even so it's rare to have such a heavy snowfall in March

[identity profile] veronica-milvus.livejournal.com 2008-03-23 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
That looks so fresh and pretty. A great photo, worthy of a frame.
We had lots of snowflakes but very little "stuck" - so no winter wonderland for us.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

Our winter wonderland has already melted- but it's snowing again, even as I write....

Beautiful!

Sigh. We never have snow anymore down here.

But this year the daffodils are beautiful.

[identity profile] poliphilo.livejournal.com 2008-03-27 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
It's odd; we had hardly any snow during the winter and then along comes this very generous snowfall at the start of spring.
