A Nasty Turn

Ailz drew the blinds this morning just in time to see Sameena-next-door walk over to our car and give it a long hard look as if something were wrong. We rushed out to check and found a black hole where the passenger window should have been. "We've been broken into," said Ailz. I felt around- no broken glass- and then I remembered how we'd been checking the tires yesterday with a compressor that plugs into the dashboard and had the window wound right down and- well- we'd  only gone and left it open all night.

It's been raining hard. I guess the seat will be wet.

We're off to Glastonbury for a couple of nights. Birthday treat.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. No-one broke into the car though. Mind you it does have a thingy where you can't unlock the car so they'd have had to climb in through the window and out again.

Being forgetful trumps broken into any day.

A few years back our car _was_ broken into.

The window was broken and on the ground a few feet away was one of our tapes, which Barbara left laying on the seat.

While I'm not a CSI tech I was able to piece together what when through the criminal's mind:

They saw a lone tape laying on the passenger's side seat, broke the window, grabbed the tape, discovered that it was Phantom of the Opera and dropped it on the ground.

We've had the car broken into a couple of times. It's a risk you take if you don't have a garage and have to park out on the street.

I think the seats are alright. i haven't really checked. I've been seating on a coat for the last 600 miles.
