The Days Are Getting Longer

As Ailz just said, "Oh good, it's the solstice". Once upon a time we'd have celebrated with elderberry wine and sky-clad ritual.  Not any longer. Today a sigh of relief will have to do.  We're into the light half of the year, the days are getting longer. Yay!

Actually- now I think about it- we will be doing a ritual today. Not skyclad. And there won't be any elderberry wine. We're going to a funeral. If I were running the thing (which I'm happy to say I'm not) I think I'd work the solstice into my address.

I am sooooo grateful. We have a similar climate and day length this time of year--- lucky if we have 8 1/2 hours of daylight (cloudy days make it even shorter). I woke up first thing this morning and looked at the sky from my bed. I thought the very same thing-- oh good, it's the solstice.

It was very cold last night. Cold and clear. Really lovely. But it rained in the night and we're back to normal, grey, damp, December weather.

Hello there father how are you faring, i again am in the role of duty manager today i never seem to leave this place its almost a second home. Hope the holiday season has been pleasent enough for you so far it has been a constant workload for me hence the cancellations with you the other day. But if me and the vickster plan to gat a house next year then money is the key that or a lottery win. Have been writing a story recently about a young lad in the summer holidays that struggles with a very exteme imagination in fact yesterday two bitter old ladies were randomnly executed by a horde of ducks in a park, which i stole the design off alexander park. Remember tim well he has got this huge inflatable santa outfit which he intends to wear on christmas eve which should have some amusing consequences.I hope you realise that just because i havent spoke for a while it doesnt mean in any way that i have forgot about you or couldnt be bothered its just a state of buisiness at the moment trying to make something of myself. Its just the texts ailzs sending seem to be getting more volatile but i ask you to understand my uncoditional love for you guys it shouldnt be a worry ever. I hope to see you around the christmas season and will ask vick about boxing day party , love you loads joe

It's just that we feel out of touch and you're so hard to reach because your phone is switched off all the time (Not that I blame you because I hate phones myself.)

It's great that you and Vick are thinking of buying a house. Will that be in Bolton? Do you have your sights on anything?

Sounds like an interesting story you're writing there. I've been reading the Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami. He has that kind of imagination too. You might like him.

We're still going to Granny's for Xmas but there's been a change of plan. G's friend Nora has broken her wrist and is staying at G's receiving TLC so we'll be staying at Jenny's.

You know that picture should really be changed it looks like your in severe constipation and trying ever so hard to squeeze a turd out. Yeah hopefully should make Keith and Ruths it would be great to do the whole catch up game. Tell Ailz that their was no ill nature intended by what i said. STUPID COW ha ha ha ha . My story tends to get shocking at points to the extent that people say is that necessary to which i say yes because the character needs to be seen in two different lights hie reality and the uncontrollable imagination what do you think

I just think it's great that you're writing. And it's your story so the choices are yours to make. can I read it sometime?
