Gorgeous shot! The lights and shadow, and mix of shapes, are really nice.
I love St. Albans cathedral: the mix of styles from one end to the other, the frescoes, the pillars, etc etc etc. Beautiful and serene and entirely itself.
It was rather fun to go from there to the Roman ruins and museum. Lovely stuff in both places. I don't know if we'll ever go back, as the friend who used to live there has moved, but it was a marvelous visit.
We seem to have gotten into the habit of visiting St Albans on the way to my mother's. If we set off early we arrive there just about in time for lunch. Next time we do this we really must go to the Verulamium museum.
