Wow! That is a cake which commands respect. And I see what they meant about the chocolate curls, now - I thought they would be just random little curls all over the surface, but this is much more architectural.

I do detect a slight leaning-tower-of-Pisa effect in the third tier, but this does not detract from the overall impact, and may well be fixable anyway.

And the good news for you is that there isn't much room left for chocolate button cats to be depicted!

You're right about the Pisa effect. It's very noticeable from certain angles. We hope the florist will be able to disguise it when she drapes the cake with flowers.

And, no, the chocolate-button cat idea was abandoned- yay!

Oh my!
Each curl stuck on individually??
It's going well.
I'm enjoying seeing the progress

The curls turned out to be the easiest part.

This is as far as things go today. Tomorrow we take it to the venue and the florist gets to decorate it with flowers.

They've done really well.

This is the culmination of many weeks of research and experiment.

That is a very impressive cake. It looks architectural.

The ladies are doing an amazing job. Something I could not accomplish to be sure.

Neither of them have attempted anything quite like this before.

It will look lovely draped in flowers! Any idea what sort of floral decoration is planned? I hope we get a picture of the finished product.

I'm going to be taking pictures at the wedding and those will include shots of the cake.
