Yes it was. Tied things together very nicely. And taken by itself it's one of the best books in the series.

It was a fast read, and a definite page turner. I read it yesterday morning/early afternoon, in and around doing laundry.

I had the American copy too- though bigger than the uk version, it runs to over 700 pages. It has little pictures at the start of each chapter.

Finished it yesterday. Not exactly the ending I expected/hoped for, but still good, and made me think.

Perhaps it`s too early to openly discuss it- people fearing spoilers and all that. Lots to say though.

I just finished it about an hour ago.

I was pleased with the ending if not terribly surprised by it all. She tells a compelling story -- one might think she cast a spell herself on the book, making it impossible to put down until finished.

Or not. I did manage to take a break long enough to see the HP movie. Although, that's not really much of a break, is it?

She certainly has the knack of making you turn the page.

The ending was less radical than I thought it would be. I'd expected one- at least- of the three central characters to die.

She's brought the series to an honourable conclusion. I still think Order of the Phoenix is the best of the books.

I can't read that fast. Subtract the time spent sleeping and performing one or two unavoidable tasks and I believe the book cost me at least 12 hours.

I enjoyed it enormously. It's very exciting. I think the conclusion is largely satisfying though not greatly surprising. I still think Order of the Phoenix is the best of the books.

The lost weekend! --I rearranged an appointment, skipped church, turned off my cell phone and TV and computer, and spent the day on my porch, taking breaks only for walking occasionally when I got too restless.

Harry totally immersed me and I was 99% pleased with the story. (I found the epilogue frustrating, because I wanted to know what the characters would be doing with their careers, although surely she'd hinted at auror, ministry, and law)

Kate finished before I did; she said she'd find herself looking up and being startled that she was in her living room.

I'm just listening to an interview with the author, and a child asked her what happened to Harry, Hermione, and Ron with their careers. She answered that Harry and Ron "sort of revolutionize" the auror department and that Hermione is involved with law and justice. She said the original epilogue was more detailed but didn't work.

She also said she "cried the hardest" when writing about the great explosion at Hogwarts in Book 7 when Harry was out in the forest.
